View Info Sheet

The new NE-U100 was designed for ultimate portability. The device will fit in a handbag or briefcase and because it is battery operated, there is no need to worry about charging. The device runs for 4 hours on just two AA batteries.

The titanium vibrating element, inside the unit, oscillates at a high frequency and therefore pushes the liquid medication through the fine fine holes in the metal alloy mesh. This has many benefits including the ability to use the device at almost any angle, including while lying in bed.

The unit is virtually noiseless and can be used discreetly while on the go. Easy to clean and disinfect. Medication bottle assembly (including mesh and transducer) can be removed and opened for cleaning.

In addition, the NE-U100 can hold up to 10 ml of medication, making it one of the largest medication chambers for a portable unit.

Replacement Parts & Accessories
Quick-Start Guide

Assembly

  1. Install batteries or connect AC adapter. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the main unit and insert 2 AA alkaline batteries (included), observing correct polarity. Alternatively, connect the optional AC adapter (100–240 V) to the DC-IN port.
  2. Attach the Unit Cover. Slide the unit cover onto the main unit until it clicks into place.
  3. Prepare the Medication Container. Unscrew the medication container cap, add your prescribed medication (up to 10 ml), and replace the cap securely.
  4. Install the Mesh Cap. Hold the mesh cap by its rim — do not touch the mesh surface — and press it gently onto the medication container until seated flush.
  5. Attach the mouthpiece or mask. Connect the mouthpiece directly to the medication container, or attach the mask adapter followed by the appropriate mask (adult or child).
  6. Attach the medication container to the main unit. Align the container with the unit's opening and press until secure.

Starting a Treatment

  1. Hold the unit upright or tilt slightly — it can operate at virtually any angle.
  2. Press the power button (top of unit). The indicator light will turn on and mist will begin within a few seconds.
  3. Breathe in slowly and steadily through the mouthpiece or mask until the medication is fully nebulized (mist stops).
  4. Press the power button again to turn off. Do not leave the unit running after the medication cup is empty.

Power & Battery Tips

  • Use fresh AA alkaline batteries for best mist output. Rechargeable NiMH batteries may reduce performance.
  • Fully charged/fresh batteries provide approximately 4 hours of continuous operation.
  • The optional AC adapter (sold separately) is compatible with 100–240 V outlets worldwide.
  • If the unit does not start, check battery polarity and ensure the medication container is fully seated.
Cleaning & Mesh Cap Care

After every treatment:

  1. Turn off and disconnect the unit. Remove the medication container assembly from the main unit.
  2. Disassemble the container: unscrew the cap and remove the mesh cap by holding its rim only.
  3. Rinse the medication container, cap, mouthpiece, and mask adapter under warm running water.
  4. Shake off excess water and allow all parts to air dry completely on a clean surface before reassembling.

Mesh cap handling rules (critical):

  • Never touch the mesh surface with fingers, cotton swabs, or paper towels — this can block or damage the fine holes and reduce mist output.
  • Do not submerge or soak the mesh cap.
  • If residue appears on the mesh, hold it under gently running water (mesh side down) for 10–15 seconds. Do not rub.
  • Inspect the mesh surface before each use. If mist volume is noticeably reduced even with a full medication cup and fresh batteries, replace the mesh cap.

Weekly disinfection: Soak the medication container, cap, mouthpiece, and mask adapter in a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water for 30 minutes, then rinse with clean water and air dry. Do not disinfect the main unit, mesh cap, or batteries.

Troubleshooting
Symptom Possible Cause & Solution
Unit does not turn on Check that batteries are installed correctly (observe polarity markings). Replace with fresh AA alkaline batteries. If using the AC adapter, verify it is firmly plugged in. Ensure the medication container is fully attached to the main unit.
Little or no mist produced Batteries may be low — replace with fresh AA alkaline batteries. Check that the medication container is not empty. Inspect the mesh cap: if the mesh appears blocked, rinse gently under running water (mesh side down). If mist does not improve after rinsing, replace the mesh cap (part no. NE-U100-MESH or compatible).
Mist output has decreased over time The mesh cap is a consumable part and should be replaced approximately every 6 months with regular daily use, or sooner if mist output drops noticeably.
Unit stops during treatment Batteries are depleted — replace immediately. If using AC power, check the adapter connection and outlet. Allow the unit to cool for 5 minutes if it has been running continuously for more than one session.
Medication leaking from container Ensure the medication container cap is tightly screwed. Do not overfill beyond 10 ml. Check that the mesh cap is properly seated (flush with the container rim).
Unit is noisier than expected Check that the unit cover is fully clicked onto the main unit. Ensure the medication container is securely attached. Normal operating sound is less than 35 dBA.
Error indicator light flashing Remove and reattach the medication container. Power cycle the unit. If the light continues to flash after reseating the container and replacing batteries, contact Omron customer support at 1-800-634-4350 or visit omron-healthcare.com.
