This month one of our most popular nebulizers, the PARI Vios, has literally gone green. Both the Standard and Pediatric models now come in Emerald Green rather than the old Blue and Yellow. The new design is part of PARI’s commitment to going green for a better tomorrow. According to their website, “by making environmentally friendly choices, PARI aims to reduce our carbon footprint while staying true to our vision of helping those affected by respiratory disease.”

Studies have shown that going green is not only good for the environment, it’s also great for asthmatics’ health. Specifically, it reduces air pollution, a common asthma trigger and the cause of many respiratory illnesses. Here are a few simple ways you can go green.

  1. 1. Walk/Bike More

By driving less and walking or biking more, you cut down on the pollution your car makes when burning gas. Plus, it’s great exercise and saves money!

  2. 2. Unplug Appliances When Not In Use

This simple act can save electricity and reduce your energy bill.

  3. 3. Buy Secondhand

Buying secondhand is a great way to reuse materials, whether you’re looking for furniture, appliances, or even a car. Garage sells and sites like craigslist are great for finding secondhand products.

  4. 4. Borrow/Rent Books

If you love to read, you can reduce ink and paper waste by checking out books from your local library. If you’re in college, you can do the same by renting textbooks online instead of buying them. And once again, both options save you money.

  5. 5. Filter Your Own Water

Filtered water’s great, but constantly buying plastic bottles of the stuff gets expensive and is bad for the environment. Instead, simply filter your own water and carry it with you in a reusable bottle.
