Nebulizer treatments can be scary and intimidating for young children. Manufacturers, such as MedQuip, have taken note of this, creating nebulizer machines shaped as cute zoo animals or cool toys to help children feel more at ease and compliant.
For older children who don’t want a pediatric designed-nebulizer, there are other machines, such as the PARI Vios and Pari Trek S, that look just as cool but less juvenile.
Here are some things to consider when choosing a nebulizer machine for your child:
Nebulizers can be used by anyone of any age. Even infants can benefit from these machines; all they need is a pediatric mask or pacifier nebulizer kit.
All of the children’s nebulizers we carry are easy for young kids to set up and use independently.
One customer wrote, “I feel that functionality and ease of use is very important. I use this nebulizer for my triplet daughters (5 yrs. Old) who have suffered from reactive airway disorder since birth…As far as ease of use, my girls can set it up and use it all by themselves (I do supervise).”
From cute pandas to cool fire trucks, Just Nebulizers carries a wide range of children’s nebulizers shaped as friendly characters or fun toys just for kids. These nebulizers help make children feel more willing to sit down and take their medication.
One happy customer wrote, “This product is AWESOME. My son no longer fights me to take treatment!!! It’s fast and fun!! You can’t beat the amazing price either.”
Nebulizer masks offer an easier way for children to take their medicine. Many of our children’s neb systems come with a pediatric mask. You can find more masks here.
The children’s nebulizers with the friendly character designs are bulkier than smaller, handheld nebulizers. However, they do come with a durable pouch to keep all the parts together and make it easier to transport from place to place.
Some systems can be a little noisy so it may scare infants and babies. However, most machines are quiet and won’t disturb young users. The Pari Trek is a very quiet jet nebulizer that works great for both children and adults.
Some nebulizers come with a flip top lid (instead of twist-on), which makes it easier for young children to fill their medication. Some machines also have a holder on the side to conveniently hold the nebulizer cup.
We carry a large selection of nebulizer systems to accommodate all children with respiratory conditions. If you still need help choosing a nebulizer machine for your child, please call us at 1-888-550-2450 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
