Details

The Omron NE-U22V is the smallest, lightest (only 6 ounces with batteries inserted), and most portable nebulizer available for the aerosol dependent patient. The Vibrating Mesh Technology (V.M.T.) creates a dense therapeutic mist by moving the medication through a mesh metal alloy. The mesh nebulizes the medication to a particle size of 5 microns, allowing for 98% medication delivery in shorter times than most larger nebulizers.

Unlike traditional ultrasonic nebulizers, the Omron MicroAir's Vibrating Mesh Technology does not transfer heat to the medication, so it can be used with nearly any inhaled medication. It is capable of delivering most liquid medications such as Albuterol®, Alupent®, Brokosol®, Isuprel®, Pulmicort Respules®, Proventil®, Ventolin®, Xopenex®, DuoNeb® and Intal®. Included is a small protective case about the size of a glasses case, allowing users to easily take their Omron NE U22V nebulizer with them everywhere. The portability of the Omron Micro-Air is unmatched!

Setting the bar for portable nebulizers, the Omron Micro-Air has earned top reviews from buyers due to its reliability, convenient size, easy to use design, unique powering options (can use AA batteries), and silent operation. While it's only slightly larger than an inhaler, don’t let its small size fool you, as it produces respiratory relief unmatched by other portable nebulizers.

This product requires that you regularly replace the vibrating mesh cap every 6 months to maintain its peak performance, so consider adding one to your order to keep your unit running smoothly for a whole year. The Omron MicroAir can be used with an optional pediatric or adult mask. You can view all other compatible parts and accessories here.

What's in the box: compressor, unit cover, medication cup (7 ml capacity), mesh cap, mouthpiece, a universal adapter for masks and "T"-pieces, a convenient carrying case, and an instructional DVD. An optional AC adapter is available but not included.

Safe for use with most solution medications, including Albuterol®, Alupent®, Brokosol®, Isuprel®, Pulmicort Respules®, Proventil®, Ventolin®, Xopenex®, DuoNeb® and Intal®

Vibrating Mesh Technology is the use of low frequency vibration (180 kHz) produced by a horn transducer that pushes medication through a metal alloy mesh plate with over 6000 holes to create an efficient, therapeutic, low velocity aerosol.

Unlike Metered Dose Inhalers (MDI's) with "high velocity" aerosol delivery, difficult inhalation techniques and the need for "spacing devices", the Micro-Air delivers low velocity aerosol and requires no coordination issues with breathing. Micro-Air's efficient VMT system delivers to the last drop of medication and can operate with small volumes starting as low as 0.5ml. Micro-Air's low frequency requires less power consumption, allowing for operation from two "AA" batteries and reducing weight to 6 ounces. Add to this a profile comparable to today's new cellular phones and you have the optimal nebulizer for today's active respiratory patient.

  • 4 stars, Great little nebuluzer
By Debra from Houston on 2014-04-22
Love everything except the cleaning routine

  • 4 stars, Omron Nebulizer NE-U22V
By Lou from Seattle on 2014-04-20
This is so much easier to travel with, small and lightweight. It is silent while in use. I have had to restart the unit when operating because it stops before vaporizing the entire dose. However, it's easy to restart and then it does complete the job. For travel, this really can't be beat.

  • 5 stars, Awesome Little Workhorse
By Willow Jane from Austin, TX on 2014-04-18
Pros: Lightweight, Portable, Easy to use, Quiet
    Cons: none
    Best Uses: Asthma
I can't believe I've been treating my asthma this long without this little gem. Great for on-the-go and in the home.

  • 1 stars, Disappointing and undependable
By Disappointed from Winter haven, FL on 2014-04-13
    Pros: Small and portable
Cons: Undependable, Expensive to maintain, Batteries fall out, Not Reliable Temperament, Micro Filter 6900, Replace Twice Yearly, Replace Microfilter Often, Not reliable, Doesn't latch securely
I had discontinued Omron micro mesh nebulizer previously and loved it; used it for about 10 years! However, this model is not worth the money. The worst feature about this model is that it is undependable: sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. The Micro-mesh filter has to be replaced twice a year @ $69.00 each time! Also, when you snap down the micro filter it will not always start. Another problem is that the vapor will stop if the micro mesh filter gets too wet; I've often had to stop treatment and wait until it has dried out…not good when your chest is tight and you need the entire treatment!

  • 5 stars, wish I had this sooner
By Irene from New Jersey on 2014-03-28
Pros: No noise, Light Weight, Really Small Size
Cons: A bit difficult to clean
This is so easy to travel with. No more lugging the plug-in nebulizer in your suitcase & this is perfect to take to Europe where the electric doesn't match up. Fits right in your pocketbook. You can use it anywhere. Love it!

  • 5 stars, great product
By Daisy from New York, NY on 2014-03-27
    Pros: Quiet, Compact, Effective
This product exceeded our expectations. It is very lightweight, very quiet and disperses the medication effectively. We would definitely recommend it.

  • 5 stars, Very Innovative!
By Tom from N.C. on 2014-03-27

A very compact Nebulizer for Asthma relief.

  • 1 stars, I wouldn't buy this product again
By Lazaro Gonzalez from Fullerton ca on 2014-03-26
Cons: Doesn't Mist, Didn't work, turns off a lot, Item Is Defective, Got A Defective Item
Best Uses: None, Never got to use
Called omron went through the trouble shooting was told I might have received a defective item bought it two weeks ago nebulizer is in the box waste of 200 dollars

  • 5 stars, Great product-easy to use
By Kathy from Philadelphia, PA on 2014-03-25
    Nebulizer treatments every 6 hours.

  • 5 stars, Perfect at home or away
By QM from northern CA mountains on 2014-03-25
Pros: Pauses Easily, Use anywhere, Fast Dose Delivery, Better Than Aerosols, Inhalent Goes Farther
Cons: Have Lost 1 Battery Cover
Best Uses: Rapid Or Paused Dose
I take doses at home (with power cord) or on the road. My "emergency" inhaler is much, much less effective. I get the full effect of my medicine anywhere. The atomizer effect gives every puff its maximum benefit. My spouse and I are both completely convinced that this is the best of the many products we have used. It is, however, important to follow the cleaning instructions exactly.

  • 4 stars, this is great .. but..
By nana from california on 2014-03-23
    Pros: Great for travel
    Cons: Battery Case Design Bad
The cap/lid for the battery case is difficult to close and pops open to easily. Maybe they can make a better. tighter cap on this.. Otherwise it is compact and easy to use..

  • 5 stars, DYNAMIC - THE BEST
By Special from Sarasota, FL on 2014-03-21
I have owned three Omron Nebulizers. Prior years, I owned another manufacturers (terrible, made skimpy). Omron is the cadillac of all. I feel so secure with mine. Highly recommend. The best. Thank you OMRON

  • 5 stars, A Godsend
By Deskcaptn from Havelock, NC on 2014-03-11
Pros: Convenient, Portability, Quiet, Awesome Price, Compact easy to carry, Saves Money, Eliminates Need For Mdi
    Cons: None so far
Best Uses: Work, School, Home, Trips
This product has saved me so much. I spent over $100 per month on inhalers but now With this device I spend only $4 on generic solution which is not offered in a handheld MDI. Ingenious!

  • 5 stars, Amazing
By revroberto from Ft. Lauderdale Florida on 2014-03-10
This is a wonderful option for my inhalation therapy at home, traveling or even outdoors. The instructional CD was very helpful - a little challenging to use the first time.

  • 5 stars, We couldn't live without it!
By none from Arligton, TX on 2014-03-07
    Cons: Problems Getting Rebate
We have used Omron for about 25 years. The NEU22 has traveled all over Europe as well as many trips in USA. Both my husband I have copd and rely on having this light weight unit to be as close as our pocket book.

  • 4 stars, This is the third one I've bought
By Adrienne from Cotati, CA on 2014-03-06
    Pros: Silent, Effective, Lightweight
    Cons: Mesh Is Delicate
I use this frequently, rather than going to the hospital for respiratory treatments. I carry it with me always. I love how quiet and effective it is. The size is also a nice feature. The mesh seems to make the medicine more useful to my lungs. However, without frequent cleaning, it can get clogged. If the mesh doesn't work properly, the machine doesn't work and this can feel mysterious. I now order 2 mesh attachments, so if there's a problem I can try the new one. Also, it means I can use the machine while I am waiting for a replacement. This is an excellent product.

  • 2 stars, Disappointing
By Chronic asthmatic from Seattle, WA on 2014-03-03
    Pros: Portable
    Cons: Very short battery life
This was my third purchase of this nebulizer as a replacement of an older one. I got it as my others were never a problem . This one needs new batteries after three uses, not days but uses!

  • 5 stars, I love my nebulizer!
By Missy from Muncie, IN on 2014-03-03
Pros: Ease of Use, Convenience, Extremely Quiet, Portability, Ease of cleaning
This works wonderfully for me. I can take it anywhere and if I need to use it, it doesn't disturb anyone around me because it's whisper quiet!

  • 5 stars, Great Nebulizer!
By Asthmatic Teacher from Los Alamos, NM on 2014-03-02
Pros: Convenient, Totally portable, Fast Med Delivery
    Cons: Difficult to clean
    Best Uses: Duoneb, Albuterol, Pulmicort
I use this at work. It is light and travels easily and works FAST. I now finish nebulizing quickly instead of using over half of my lunch break to do so. Great product!

  • 5 stars, Works as advertised
By Stu from St Augustine, FL on 2014-02-22
    Very handy

  • 4 stars, Excellent Product
By PC from Chagrin Falls, OH on 2014-02-19
Pros: Small Quiet Portable, Excellent Carrying Case
    Cons: Small Mouthpiece
Easy to use product and easy to clean. Works very well, the nebulization is excellent. Only complaint is that the mouthpiece is so small you have to be holding the device really close to your mouth all the time.

  • 5 stars, Most convenient nebulizer available
By JackmanL from San Diego, CA on 2014-02-16
Pros: High Quality, Compact Size, Dependable, Affordable, Convenient, Easy to use
    Cons: none
Best Uses: No Need For Any Other
The Omron Micro-Air is the best nebulizer our family has ever used. Great for both adults and children. Very easy and simple to use. Far more convenient, quiet and dependable than other bulky vibrating air nebulizers we have used in the past.

  • 4 stars, I would buy this product again
By John from East Cost USA on 2014-02-14
Pros: Quiet, Extremely Portable, Small, Nice Mist, Simple to operate
Cons: A bit expensive, Bit Expensive To Maintain
I nebulize four times a day and I work. It makes no noise at all and can run off batteries so it's great for use at work. I use the AC adapter at home to keep battery expense down. It works great and has a nice mist. It does, however, require the ultrasonic mesh be replaced every 6 months at more than $50 a pop so it's Cost of Ownership is a bit high.

  • 3 stars, it's good until it's not completely dry
By Sarah-mom of 3 from Montclair, NJ on 2014-02-04
    Pros: Works Great, Handy
Cons: too short battery life, Replacement parts are, Parts wear fast, Too Fragiledelicate
Because this is battery operated, it is nice and handy. However, pieces are very fragile & delicate. Battery life is short. Replacement pieces are so expensive & at least one piece will need replacing every year. I would recommend it if you need a portable nebulizer.

  • 5 stars, Hands down, a great product!!!!!
By Johnny from Dayton, Ohio on 2014-02-03
Pros: Carrying Case Ship With, Great Misting Ability, Light Weight, Quiet, Durable, Compact
Buy this one! You will be happy

  • 2 stars, Better than nothing when you travel
By SDREYES from Fontana, CA on 2014-02-03
    Pros: A Quiet Travel Equipment
    Cons: Very Low Batteries Life
This was for personal use on travel out of USA. The batteries run out so fast that I had to carry a dozen on them all the time. Because of this, the cost is too high.

  • 1 stars, sad...

Cons: I Want A Unit That Works
    :(

  • 5 stars, EASY TO USE -- GREAT SMALL SIZE
By Doug the Garden Toolman from Sun City, AZ on 2014-01-29
Pros: Love The Size - Portable, Easy to use and clean, Very quiet
    Best Uses: Can use anywhere
As a severe asthmatic since the 80s, I need to have a nebulizer when I get sick. The old models I have used before were not only large (and not very portable) they were VERY noisy! My daughter (who is also a severe asthmatic) recommended this product and since getting it, I really love it! I love the ease of use, easy to clean, very portable (when is great for travel) and very quiet. An added bonus is that it is also more efficient in the delivery of the medication too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • 5 stars, Small size-Big Performance
By Grandmother in TN from Johnson City, TN on 2014-01-25
Much easier to use than a full-size nebulizer.

  • 5 stars, saving grace
By bull dog from Beaumont, ca on 2014-01-24

  • 5 stars, LIFE SAVER
By mike g from Andover, mn on 2014-01-16
    Cons: none
Best Uses: Have 3 One In The Car One
My asthma has become severe again. The noise of the other even compact machines added to my stress when I needed to use it. This unit is so small, works so much better and I don't have to worry about waking up rhe house during an attack. I can not say enough good about this machine...

  • 3 stars, Okay...but not as amazing as I hoped!
By Mom of 2 asthma boys... from Lakewood, NJ on 2014-01-16
Pros: Silent, Battery Or Adaptor, Light Weight, Portable
Cons: Expensive, Not faster, Guzzles Batteries, annoying to clean, Have To Hold At Angle, Annyoying To Sanitize
Best Uses: When on the go
It is annoying to have to hold at an angle. The website is misleading- it makes it sound like the nebulizer nebulizes more quickly than standard table-top nebulizers. I did not find this to be the case with xopenex or pulmicort- it took the same amount of time as a standard mebulizer and was 3-4 times the price. Had I known this I would not have bought it....Also it is a bit annyoying to clean and disinfected...but its okay. It will be more conveniant to travel with....will be good to have on an airplane...but I am not sure I would reccomend spending the $$$ to buy it...

  • 5 stars, excellent

By None from Farmingdale, NY on 2014-01-07
Bring it with me all over.

  • 5 stars, life changing purchase!
By happy mom from Scranton,Pa on 2014-01-06
Pros: Portable, Easy to use, Quiet
    Best Uses: Travel
My daughter has chest pain when using her MDI inhaler- it is also problematic for her with vocal cord dysfunction- nebulizers work much better but are not practical for chronic use- She has just been using a neb now and the difference is amazing- Absolutely worth every penny! We were also able to use with a mask.

  • 5 stars, Amazing!
By Timbersmom from Monterey CA on 2014-01-06
    Pros: Quiet, Ease of Use
So far we are totally impressed. This inhaler is working perfectly and is totally silent. Our 4 y/o daughter can hold it and give herself the neb while we read to her!! It's so portable, just fits right in our "asthma bag", so much easier to transport and travel with than our home neb.

  • 1 stars, Make sure you have a back up nebulizer!
By Ginger from Ithaca, NY on 2014-01-02
    Pros: Small, Quiet
    Cons: broke, Own2 Both Broke
I love the idea of this product and used one of my 1st Omron micro-air nebulizers for 6 months. Then it broke. I ordered another, rush, took it on my Thanksgiving trip and it broke within 1 week while I was traveling. Yikes! Better keep a backup compressor nebulizer in your luggage.
